wedding knife set
toasting flutes and knife and server set for my wedding. Do they have to be $150?

we're on a tight budget like 4000 for are wedding and i'm cutting back every place i can with out looking cheap. but is there any reason I would need $150 toasting glasses or $150 knife and server? i'm not the type to put these items on display after the wedding. but a lot of people must pay this amount because there are a lot of sets priced that high. can some one tell me other than cutting my cake why i would maybe want a $150 set?
im a major bargin shopper. i bought 60 toasting flutes at macys on clearance for 12 by Lenox. i'm just not in love with them but i dont think it really matters. they will do. and the kife gets dirty anyway i just dont understand it even if my parents were paying for my wedding and had 12,000,000 i cant say i would buy a Vera wang knife for $150 that i would use once.

I paid 45 dollars for my toasting flutes on ebay. They are trumpet glasses with a platinum rim Very nice, and a good deal for what I got!

My serving set was actually a gift from my grandmother for my bridal shower, because she knew we were on a tight budget, and it was very nice of her to do that for me!

You can use whatever you want for the toasting glasses though. You get get them at any store, even a dollar store. If you are wanting something a little more wedding like, hobby lobby and wal-mart have wedding sections with toasting flutes for about $20.

The cake serving set can be the same thing. If you already own one, you can use that. You can find them really cheap on ebay as well.

Both of these items also make a great "something borrowed" usually grandparents will have a real silver serving set that you could use and it would be a nice sentiment. You could do the same with toasting glasses. Maybe a friend or relative ha a pretty crystal pattern you want to use.

Don't let the wedding industry tell you that you need to spend that much. There are many other options out there for budget brides!

Good luck!
