Stone Canyon QH Knives

the backs that once beforthed me,
have now turned so cold and distant.
the silence speaks betrayal,
i was nothing but a crutch.
clever lies & sharpened knives,
that have plunged into my own.
merely does the pain exude,
for this was not the target.
the blades that i've pulled out,
now travel across the river.
as i'm feeling their intent,
dripping on the floor.
the reflections of their faces,
fade in ripples of brief relief.
left all blackened and dried,
my heart only pumps so much.
so i traded blades for pens,
that spilled ink of its own.
one that is more precise,
for these thoughts may set free.
they say actions speak louder,
but these words that i've written,
last forever.
