Small heated knife for cutting plastic bottles fast and quiet?
Hi,
I'm looking for a knife that I can use to cut plastic 1 gallon bottles. It needs to be small, be able to cut the bottle fairly fast, and should be fairly quiet. The reason I need this is because I'm designing a magic trick, and I need to keep the knife hidden in my sleeve for the most part. And it needs to cut the bottle fairly fast, and preferably not too loud.
Does anyone know of something that I could use to do this?
What I have found so far is simply a razor blade, which is a bit too slow and hard to cut the bottles with. I was also looking at soldering irons with hot knifes attatchments. If anyone knows if the butane powered hot knife would do the trick, please tell me. Can you hear them burning loudly? Or if they have portable electic hot knifes, that would be great.
Any ideas for what knife to use would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!
There is a hot wire Styrofoam cutter that is available in most craft stores. It works off a size "d" battery. I think it will be too big for your purpose, but maybe you can find some way to adapt it. Look for it in the section where they sell the Styrofoam. Hope this will work.
