Abraham Lincoln had said these words: If I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend six hours sharpening my ax.
It shows the significance of preparation that one has to put into his or her work. it also shows how important 'planning' is to a task that has to be performed. the effort that we put into a task has to be proportional to making it right. There's no point in beginning to cut down a tree without heeding to how sharp the ax is or if its sharp enough to cut down the whole tree. None of us like to interrupt our task unnecessarily to get the preparation materials right, if we could have prepared well, before beginning the task.
