I am a cutter and today for the fist time i burned myself and it felt good!!?

I'm sorry to bother you people... but i am so scared.. i tought thatt i was trough with cutting myself... i was trying to stop it.. but today while cooking i felt the heat of the stove and then i felt the urge to feel pain... and it was like a magnet pulling me .. so i grabbed a knife i placed it at the stove and then i put it on my skin.. the pain was awful but at the same time it felt good!! then i suddenly realized what i was doing and trew the knife away and turned off the stove.. I am so scare.. i don't want to start burning myself... but i just don't want to tell anyone.. this is so embarrasing.. i don't know what to do..
I am old enough to know bettter than that.. BUTT I CAN'T STOP IT.. i;m just desperateee .. and right know i;m feeling the urge to burn myself again.. is just like a drug .. i need more.. how do i stop.. ?

Do you have a professional counselor you can talk to on a regular basis? Sometimes harming oneself is from stress/anxiety and other feelings that we find hard to cope with. By learning new coping techniques to do instead, you learn to stop hurting yourself. Do you have a journal? Think about what you think, what is going on, what has happened in the past. Think about the first time you hurt yourself. What was going on? What feelings were you coping with? Find something else to do. You can learn new coping skills to replace harming yourself with such as progressive relaxation, running, kickboxing, deep breathing, etc. You need new, healthy ways to cope. You are not crazy. You are not a bad person. You hurt and worry and have feelings just like everyone else. Learning how to better cope when you feel bad and better take care of yourself will make you feel in control again. You deserve better than this by a long shot. Imagine burning or cutting someone....You would never do that, right? Then certainly do not do it to yourself. What real pain are you avoiding by creating pain in the moment? Consider writing. Consider music, calling a good friend, getting out of the house for a fast walk with some music, etc. Make today the last day you hurt yourself. Life is hard enough without being your own worst enemy. You are probably a kind, thoughtful person who is honest and good. I don't know what goes through your mind, but you can turn this around. I like it that you came on here and asked for some help. That is great. Be KIND to yourself. Treat yourself like your own most precious child. What needs of yours are not being met? Are you lonely? Are you worried? Are you tired? Are you anxious? Take good care of yourself. Allow yourself to be human, but accept that you are not feeling well and take care of it. Please get some support while you change this behavior. There is a lot of self-help out there on the net. for starters. Look up stress and anxiety management, self-harm, coping skills, life skills, self-esteem and things like that. You can learn a lot. Check it out. Stay on line until you feel better.
