Pocket knife on a Cruise ship?
I've gotten into the habit of carrying around a pocket knife with me for protection. I don't really want to go anywhere without it, but I'm scheduled to go on a cruise tomorrow. Would i be allowed to take my knife (its legal lengthwise) onto the ship via my luggage? (not a carry on of course)
YES!! I regularly take a Swiss Army knife with me in my checked luggage packed with toiletries. It has not only a couple knife blades but also a cork screw and scissors and some other "sharp" utility attachments. But be sure to pack it in checked luggage and I would not leave it laying around the cabin and do not try to take it ashore at port stops because you'll be coming back on ship through the ship's security that is about the same as at the airport, all carry-on items on the belt and you walk through a metal detector.
