Network Marketing Coach - How Do You Get Coaching in Network Marketing?

Network marketing is a gigantic industry, and there are many so-called "coaches" and "experts" that claim to be able to show network marketers how to succeed with their businesses. With all the options available, how do you go about sorting and choosing the best network marketing coach for you and your business? Let's take a look at some of the key factors to evaluate.

First, you obviously want a coach that has experience and a history of building successful organizations. When speaking with a potential coach, you can simply ask them about their history outright - "Have you built a successful organization before?" If there is any hesitancy in their answer at all, you should go find a new prospective coach.

Second, you want to choose a coach that has a working knowledge of current marketing tools and strategies. Many network marketing coaches focus solely on motivation and mindset. Motivation is a big component of success, but without a current and up-to-date arsenal of good marketing methods that extend well beyond a distributors warm market, then motivation won't get you very far.

To illustrate: you can take the most motivated car mechanic in the world, and them a fork and a butter knife, and ask them to change the oil in your car. Will they be able to it? Probably not, as they just don't have the right tools for the job. Even if they could change the oil, it will take 10 times as long as it needs to simply because they don't have the right tools for the job.

Third, you want to make sure the potential coach knows what they are doing with your specific campaign. They need to understand your goals and your situation. They do NOT actually need to understand everything about your company or compensation plan, but they need to be able to provide you with some real-world scenarios of how they could help you in structuring a long-term successful campaign.

Fourth, they need to be able to cover all the bases of growing a business. You don't want a one-dimensional coach that only knows how to prospect, or only knows how to generate leads. A network marketing coach should have a well-rounded, comprehensive approach to building an organization. The skill-sets you should consider are:

  • Prospecting
  • Closing
  • Presenting
  • Team building / retention
  • Time management
  • Driving traffic online
  • Driving traffic offline
  • Leveraging social networking
  • Copywriting
  • Financial management
  • Entrepreneurship / business management

Choosing a network marketing coach should be a fun, educational process. If you keep these considerations in mind, a coach can help you achieve much higher levels of success much faster than a beginner could generate on their own through simple trial and error.
