is it safe for my cat to go under the knife?
I need to get my cat fixed. the only problem is that when she was a kitten she had distemper. She made it through it but is now slightly retarded( sorry for the use of the word). Is it safe for her to go under the knife?
If the vet feels her body is healthy enough, that's good enough for me. Your vet wouldn't spay your cat if he thought it would be dangerous for her. As long as your vet knows her medical history of course.
If she's been slightly brain-damaged by the distemper, that normally has nothing to do with her body.
Your vet should know your cat's medical history best. He/she is the best pers;on to ask.
