Can't "Yoshi Blades" pass through airport security?
"Yoshi Blades" are ceramic knives--no metal--that can cut veggies and meat like any other knife. So what is to stop someone from strapping one to their leg through airport security?? Not everyone get patted down, and Full body screenings are not mandatory! Thoughts? Anyone know how to get the media to inquire??
Airport security are well aware of the danger from ceramic weapons. The new body scanners will detect them, the old style machines will not. The new scanners are not mandatory but if you refuse they will give you an enhanced pat down by someone of your own sex.
There is a lot of outrage at the new scanners but they really are the best weapon against the terrorist who tries to bring things like ceramic weapons onto the plane. I remember the outrage when the old style metal detectors came in. People got used to them and now they are accepted. Problem is they are practically useless.
The scanners are the best thing to happen to airport security in decades. It is quick and impersonal, the operator cannot see you, they see a silhouette of the person and anything they are hiding will show up.
