Jack LaLane juicer -- anyone have this problem?

Ok, I got all the oranges washed and cut. Popped them into the juicer. And there goes the pulp out the back all over the counter, refrigerator, knife holder, cabinets. I didn't put the pulp catcher under the slot. What a mess.
Is anyone else that lame-brained?

I did it only once - had this juicer for about 2-3 years now and love. but one day, yah.... forgot the pulp catcher and did the same thing !
