Any help on how to sharpen knives? Particularly the tips..?

I'm a careless fool, I was playing with my Emerson's wave feature, and I hit the wall behind me, now the tip lost its edge, like it sort of forms a "trapezoid" instead of a "triangle." Can this be sharpened to restore it?

Yes, it can be done but you will change the blade shape somewhat. You have to be careful with a folder , that this doesn't allow the re-shaped tip above the liner of the knife when closed.

You could do this yourself but I would not recommend using power tools. Use a fine file and go slowly, or take it to someone that you feel can do the work. Possibly a gunsmith may do the work and I know of no knife smiths although it wouldn't surprise me if there were some near you.

I have done this work a number of times but usually just build knives. After the re-shaping is done, I would suggest getting a Lansky Knife sharpening kit. It is hard to do it wrong with one of those and it will finish up the re-shape nicely.
