Damascus steel strength - wedding rings?
I am forging my stainless steel chefs knife that I've had my entire career into my wedding band, and the artist that I have doing it suggested using Damascus steel as the outer edge of the ring and the metal from the chefs knife as the inlay. My question is had durable and strong is Damascus steel?
Durability and strength are not the issue as Damascus steel is super strong and durable. I'm not sure but I believe the issue with both Damascus and stainless steel is that they can irritate some people's skin? We decided on hand made bands using Damascus steel as the inlay and white gold as the outer edge.
