Can black ghost knife fish go with green or tiger barbs?
I thought i read that the barbs would nip the tail of the blackghost knife fish is this true? Can i keep them together?
BGK's are only a threat to small fish, when they're kept with shoaling bullies like Tiger Barbs there's a high chance it will get nipped, even when it gets big (and BGK's can get up to 20", although I've sadly never seen one kept properly to get that big!).
I would only recommend BGK's with large non-nipping fish, larger Rainbowfish might work for example, or Silver Dollar Tetras. A BGK, because of its size, should be kept in a minimum of a 75-100g tank with lots of hiding places as they're nocturnal.
