know anything about knives? cuisinart?

i got my mom a knife set for xmas because she wanted one and its from cuisinart or whatever. it was like $100. are those good knives? should i return it and get a different brand? any suggestions? and i didn't know what section to put this in so if you know a better one please tell me.

Cuisinart has no track record for knives and when I was at Cordon Bleu they recommended Victorinox as excellent value for the quality (I've had mine for 30+ years).
I think your mom may need to decide which knives she wants as she must have a purpose for them in mind. A santoku is a good all-purpose for chopping and dicing vegetables. Sometimes, the sets have one or two knives which are never used.
Target carries Rachel Ray knives which would be much better than Cuisinart but I haven't checked into sets they may have.
