Is Krav Maga designed only to inflict "maximum damage"?
I want to start taking KM. I've heard a lot of (possibly false) rumors that it's designed to kill, cripple, or otherwise do horrible damage to an attacker. I read a great article about the "four levels of conflict"; competition, fighting, self defense, and combat. Now assuming most people don't enter a combat situation unless they go to war or live in a gang neighborhood etc., I certainly don't need to learn how to fight in that type of scenario. But self defense is entirely possible. Is KM suited for self defense? Are there moves that allow a practicioner to "take it down a notch?" Even if the world might be a better place by sending some punk with a knife to the promised land, the law would certainly not agree. I have to be able to learn a style that will teach him a lesson, but not get me thrown in jail. Is KM that style?
Thanks.
Krav maga is all that you heard in the context of what you read. Kill, cripple, mangle, horrible damage, wet willy...
You get taught through worst case scenarios as it was created by a man of the last name litchenfeld. He taught to other jews to be able to defend themselves from attacks that would be meant to terrorize the jewish community and so it was all about life or death.
If you learn Krav maga you are liable to kill, cripple or destroy them entirely and you COULD go to jail.
They teach you how to fight like 10 people at a time two people at a time, etc.
