How do I sharpen this knife?
I found a combat knife in my basement that came with a leather case and small stone like sharpener. I think it might be granite or something.
But basically i dont know the proper technique to sharpen this knife.
So if you could explain or direct me that would be cool.
Sharpening stone isn't granite.
As for sharpening itself, given that you haven't done it before stones will be really difficult to start with. Especially the small stone you mentioned.
It's a challenge in the beginning to hold the consistent angle. Besides single stone is most likely for touchup, not real sharpening.
As it is, for now the best for you would be sandpaper/mousepad method.
Detailed description here - http://zknives.com/knives/articles/sandpapermousepad.shtml , plus couple tips how to keep the consistent angle.
It's much more forgiving than stones and very cheap at that.
