Canada Prohibited Weapons Laws - Swords?

So I'm looking through our weapons laws to figure out what's prohibited, and I noticed that, although it specifically bans folding blade weapons among other martial arts weapons, there is no mention at all of fixed blade weapons like swords and combat knives.

Also, it bans knife-concealing objects UNDER 30cm, such as a switchblade-comb, but does that mean it's okay if it's OVER 30 cm, like a sword-walking stick?

Now, it does say that it's an offense to carry any weapon or prohibited object concealed, but that implies that it's okay to carry a sword or combat knife unconcealed, since they don't seem to appear in any prohibited items list that I've found so far.

I'm sure the law bans them SOMEWHERE, so I guess my question is, where does it say that we can't have fixed-blade weapons?

In the Criminal Code itself (you're looking at one of the regulations under it, I think, which merely classifies different realms of weapons), "weapon" is defined as:

...any thing used, designed to be used or intended for use
(a) in causing death or injury to any person, or
(b) for the purpose of threatening or intimidating any person...

Then there are a few prohibitions relating to "weapons" generally at section 88 and thereafter. You can't possess a weapon for a dangerous purpose, you can't possess a weapon at a public meeting...that's basically it. However, on a brief review of the jurisprudence, the Courts are fairly willing to infer a dangerous purpose from the act of carrying a sword in public without another good explanation.

Lots of people collect swords. Just keep them in a safe place, and don't carry them out in public, and you'll be fine.
