Global VS Henckels VS Wusthof Knives, Which Offers The Best Chef's Knives ?
I want to buy a chef knife, ive pretty much narrowed it down to these 3 brands, however i cant decide which one to go for ?
Id like to spend about 70$ up to 110$ for the chef knife, at that price which brand will offer me the best knife ?
I know im supposed to actually try them first, hold them in my hands etc but i will be ordering online... I have small hands for a man, but i dont think that will be a problem... ive pretty much had really crappy knives up to now in my life so im sure anyone of those will be a big improvement, but id like to spend my money on the best one i can afford.
Thanks !
PS: Im not a professional cook, i just cook home.
I say for that price (up to $110) you can go with a JA Henkels 8" PRO chef knife. In my opinion (I'm married to a chef) the Wustof is a better knife though, but a bit more expensive. The reason I say the Wustof is better is because of the construction. The Henkels 8" Chef's knife is around $90 and is actually constructed in 3 pieces that are then welded together. I've known quite a few people who say this knife is difficult to sharpen. The Wustoff 8" chef knife (Pro) is around $130 but their claim to fame is their one piece construction and solid handle. It's a great feeling knife for sure and it performs well each time every time. Additionally it sharpens very easily.
