I was in car wreck & both my kids were in back seat, since then I'm terrified to b in car, is this normal?
I have hard time sleeping since car accident, and scream at anyone I ride with; I close my eyes sometimes & see it all over again. the worst part is the car flipped over in huge ditch & both my kids were hanging up-side down, seat belts holding them & saying 'mommy help'. I had to cut my baby out with a box-cutter. I keep seeing the car spinning and remember being so afraid to look in the back when it happened b/c I didnt know if they were alive or if they were thrown out, it was the biggest wake-up call of my life b/c I fell asleep after working all night at job & I remember telling them I need to pull over & take a quick nap & I didnt do it. my baby was twisted in seal belt and it was chocking her holding her up-side down. I never thought that would happen 2 me, and now, a year later, I still see it & it haunts me. what do I do? How do I get it out my head so I can b ok? So I can close my eyes peacefully and b at ease?
I was also in a terrible car accident some yrs ago. My kids was with me. It was the other persons fault fully but that makes no difference. This takes time...one thing I find myself doing all the time is being paranoid of the other drivers around me.
Let me share my story...it's kind of haunting and ironic at the same time.
I had been to a church picnic...it was on a sunday. I was driving home with my 3 kids in the back seat and my wife in riding along side me in the front. We decided to turn off at the lake...I checked my rear view mirror and did notice a car traveling rather fast and gaining on me...so when we got to the lake entrance...or rather far before I turned on my left turn signal. expecting the car behind me would see this I was looking forward and commenced with my turn. Next thing I know I'm waking up in the hospital...no idea what happened or where my wife and kids was.
Turned out the peson who hit me wasn't paying atttention...and when he seen me turning he tried to go around me on the drivers side and T-boned me. From what they tell me I got out of the car and checked on my family first then checked on the other driver/. I don't remember any of this...I just remember getting wrecked..it took me along time to be able to sleep right. It just takes time.
Here is the irony of it...it was sunday...I came from a church picnic...and the man who hit me....he was a catholic priest in a hurry to a meeting...isn't that wierd..look to God and trust he was looking out for you that day as he was me and my family...
