Spring Assisted Knives in SoCal illegal yes or no?

No they ARE NOT illegal in CA, and in most of the US states either.
Some of you people should at least bother to understand the difference between switchblade and assisted opener knives before posting false answers and baseless accusations or whatever that is.
Switchblades and assisted openers(AO) ARE NOT the same.
At least for the Law they're not the same, and if you cant' tell the difference or don't understand it, then at least refrain from posting incorrect answers.

Straight from CA penal code 653K -- "Switchblade knife" does not include a knife that opens with one hand utilizing thumb pressure applied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached to the blade, provided that the knife has a detent or other mechanism that provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade, or that biases the blade back toward its closed position.
In other words, SB274 or Karnette amendment to 653K distinguishes AO from switchblade.
2 Grappler and other knifephobics - Switchblades for your information are legal in several US states. And what's more interesting they're legal in Europe too and very popular with Farmers(try to guess why), not with gangbangers. Considering that most of your knife knowledge is based on hollywood movies, I suggest you try to read or use other sources than movies to get more realistic picture.
