A spiritual and soulful warfare...YIKES! Thoughts?
One thought confuses me
One thought returns my strength
One thought whips scornfully
At just one arm's length
Ten voices warn my heart
Ten choices break me apart
Ten rejoices thank You
But one curse still grew
Fifty white lies still scream
Fifty bright faces dream
Fifty light skies turn dark
Just not sorrow's mark
Hundreds of soldiers march
Hundreds of shepherds watch
Hundreds of warriors kill
But I'm standing still
Thousands of daggers stab
Thousands of words must gab
Thousands of treaties signed
Won't bring peace divine
Millions of people wait
Millions of stars, I hate
Millions of sea waves crash
Stinking like sweet trash
Ready to fight but weaker than water
Ready to die but stronger than stone
Ready to fend but easy to break
Ready to snap but somehow not cracked
How many wars go on deep in my soul
I can't count them
I ran out of fingers and toes long ago
I've run out of patience for counting these things
But has God
Adam, this is brilliant! And, I believe, God never runs out of patience. He waits for us all the time, to come around to his way of thinking. He forgives, and, forgives again. How great is he! This is a very thought provoking writing. I admire your talent. Thanks for sharing.
