How do Vietnamese Americans feel about when USA left south Vietnam to fight?
Vietnam today is now poor because of communism there. I know that USA should have not enter the war but how do South Vietnamese people back then feel about USA fighting for them? do they feel it necessary for other countries to help them fight? just curious that all. How do Vietnamese Americans today feel that USA left south Vietnam alone to fight?
no bs answer please. Just your opinions. i want Vietnamese Americans to answer this question.
i can see Vietnam economy is rising but still not richer than America.
In the first place, our politicians in DC micro-controlled that conflict. Vietnam was poor before Communism had taken over, it was a sad place. The US military spent years and lots of money and equipment to train their army but it just wouldn't take. The US pulled out of there because of public pressure from back home. The US lost 58,000 US troops there in 8 years, that's an average of 20 troops a day. We were there to stop Communism and then the country fell to Communism right on our heels as we were leaving.
