Throwing Knife
How do you set up a throwing knife deal in your house or garage?

I have one of those foam targets that is about 2 feet by 2 feet. I want to make sure I don't wind up wrecking up the house (or garage I guess).

A regular sheet of plywood to put behind the foam would work. If you want it to look good, you can plaster it with drywall mud and/or paint it.

You'd have to fasten it to the wall so the knife velocity doesn't cause it to bounce back and fall down.

How you fasten it would probably change according to how much damage you want to do to the wall behind it, and how much floor room you have.
Easy: A nail or screw about 4" in from each corner would be plenty.

Single hole in the wall: Place the plywood on the floor, put one eye hook in the center above it and attach a string to the corners to keep it against the wall. Then lay something heavy in front of it, like a couple of bricks or cinder blocks. It's a garage- I'm sure there's something you already have that would work.

Hidden or useful:You could make a fake door by putting hinges on one side of the plywood so it swung to the "pretty side" when not in use. You could store things behind it if you placed it over shelves. You could also cut the ply wood in 3 pieces and connect them with hinges so it would fold down smaller- similar to nice dart board cupboards. That would give you more room for like lawn mowers and whatever in your garage.

Tip: It seems at our house, the knives seldom went higher than the target, or over a foot to either side. The most damage is right below the target.
Have fun!
